I today (8 August 2009) moved a couple of author discussions from the Authors and Their Books forum to the Author Suggestions forum, which is by definition where they belong, as they pertain to autthors not included in the site's main lists.

So if you're looking for an author-related thread that seems to have disappeared, just go to the correct forum.
