Seller: Granny Artemis Antiquarian Books (bremerton, WA, U.S.A.)
Used Book—Condition: Fine
Book Price: $65.00
Shipping: $4.00
TOTAL Cost: $69.00
First hardcover edition. Fine in Fine dustwrapper, wraparound artwork by Wendy Wees, plus interior illustrations by Wendy. One of 500 numbered copies. Doubly autographed by the author and illustrator. This novel initially appeared as the Ace Books paperback Tomoe Gozen, but had many textual problems, some the author's fault, others imposed by overzealous editing by the publisher. The present edition is the revised, corrected, restored, and definitive text. Tomoe Gozen was an historical figure, a woman samurai of the Kamakura Period. The present novel, however, is set in an alternate-world Japan called Naipon, where the gods and mythic creatures and magics of old Japan are real. It mixes a little history with a lot of fantasy, having a lot of influence from "jidai-geki" or samurai cinema. SIGNED LIMITED EDITION.
