"When Brother Thomas tries skyfishing from the monastery roof he knows he is breaking the law, but the few risks seem a small price to escape the stifling boredom of his cloistered life. What he doesn't understand is why his insignificant brush with the law makes him the object of a massive manhunt and triggers off such a dramatic chain of events. Certainly he achieves his aim and finds the excitement he craves - but in the process the lives of everyone around him changes as well." Interior - very light browning to top/bottom margins and gutter of pages, small soft crease at top corner of appeox. fist 30 pages. Exterior - light edge wear, very light browning - mainly on rear cover, book slightly cocked, several shallow line indentations across fore-edge of text block.

This is limited, numbered edition, numbered, 456, on the copyright/limitation page. The book itself is in lovely condition. The dust jacket is lightly bumped around the edges, and it has creasing around the bottom left corner of the front cover. There is water damage to the bottom inch and half of the front of the dust jacket and both flaps.

#780 of 1000 copies published. Signed by Powers (upside down as he is wont to do) on the title page. Maroon cloth with gold spine titles. Very faint foxing to the endpapers, and a couple of small spots on the foredge. Light edgewear to the jacket. Dust jacket protected by a clear, removable mylar sleeve.

PB original in pictorial wrappers. 1st Printing. Laser Books #47. Signed by Powers (as Tim "othy" Powers). Corner Crease to the rear cover, otherwise a very good copy in wraps.

Limited to 1000 copies of which this is number 444. The book and dust jacket are in fine condition and have never been read. First printing of the first edition hardcover. Now protected in a removable archival quality mylar sleeve.

Signed by Powers, Gurney and Whitmore on the front free endpaper, and in publisher's slipcase as issued. #177 of 225 thus issued from a total edition of 1000 copies. Originally published in 1976 it is about a young mans escape from a rural monestary into the wilds of a future Los Angles. Out of print and difficult to find in new and unread condition. Like new and unread. Slipcase in excellent condition. May have handling marks. DJ has slight tear in lower right, slipcase in like new condition.

The novel takes place in L.A. in 2179 where the police are androids brewed in vats, and Thomas, a wanted runaway monk, joins a theater group putting on a stage production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, but the production is a cover for a covert resistance force planning to take over the city and institute a new government. One of 200 numbered copies signed by Powers. Handbound in red Japanese silk with the theater Comedy/Tragedy Mask hand-stamped in silver foil on front board. A fine copy.
