Horror novel published in 1933 in the twilight years of the author's career. Red cloth boards with black titles at the head and tail of the spine. The cloth on the spine and covers is quite tanned in places; likewise with the book's edges. Binding remains tight. The main condition-related issue is the level of tanning and occasional spotting internally. Most of the pages are tanned and this is particularly pronounced on the preliminary and final ones. The front paste-down and endpaper display bands of tanning - see image. Note also the ink dedication on the ffep; dated 8.00 am, 8. 11.33. There is also a tipped- in name plate (image). Despite the heavy tanning the text remains crisp and clear with the typographical layout - double spacing - assisting this clarity. pp. 218/16mo. Please note that, depending on destination, we may request an additional payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2330.
