The cover has coral color cloth. The 23 chapters each have b/w illustrations. An owner's name and 1978 is on the front endpaper. About 15% of the pages have closed tears on one margin, mostly the bottom ones, 1/8 in. to 3 in. A few are across text. The bottom end of the text block has 8 scribbled lines of ink, up to 1 1/4 in., The spine strip is a little faded, and its top and bottom edges are a little rubbed, as are the boards' front corners. The front free endpaper has a chipped corner. Five page margins each have a closed tear. The bottom end of one page has a crease line. The top margin of one page has small, light stains.
