A relatively new novelist, of The Stolen Child fame.

Fictional works:

The Stolen Child (2006) - http://www.amazon.com/Stolen-Child-Keit ... 885&sr=8-3
Angels of Destruction (2009) - http://www.amazon.com/Angels-Destructio ... cc_b_img_b
A third novel is forthcoming, described by Donohue as a murder-mystery ghost story which takes place entirely in a bathroom . . .

I find interesting the diversity of the various reviews. On Amazon, a lot of people really liked it, but there is a definite strong minority report against.

I see, from the Washington Post review, that Graham Joyce, whom I respect as an author, liked his first book well enough, and later Elizabeth Hand--again in The Post--liked his second book.

All for all, it looks like Donohue deserves a look, and I will add him to the "Other Candidates" page, and get to him as time allows.

Thanks for the suggestion. (That third novel sounds quite interesting.)

Here is a relatively recent video interview with him, in case you might be interested. The interview is spoiler free.
