A first edition of Ernest Bramah's fantasy novel, from the Selbourne collection. Kai-Lung is Bramah's fictional Chinese peripatetic storyteller. This book sees his return from earlier Bramah works The novel satirises well-known detective stories, such as Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. In the original cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally very smart with just a little bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The first and last few pages are lightly foxed as usual, otherwise generally clean and bright throughout, and firmly bound. The slightest hint of cockling. Very Good Indeed
