FIRST EDITION, LIMITED TO 210 NUMBERED COPIES, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Collier also wrote screenplays such as "Sylvia Scarlet", "The African Queen" (uncredited).

Octavo. Black suede-covered boards with fabulous Art Deco in gilt and green to front board, with gilt lettering to spine. #182 out of 210 copies printed, on hand-made paper. (Collier also had a major hand in writing/adapting the screenplay for the John Huston film The African Queen, starring Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. "Science fiction novelette in which the protagonist 'slips on a mathematical banana skin' and finds himself projected into a future dystopia. Future dystopia brought about by science. All animals are destroyed. All culture eliminated. Dark satiric fantasy, apparently set in a parallel dimension or timeslip (rather than the future), where scientific meddling has destroyed animal life and humans from our plane of existence are trapped for food and eaten"

London, The White Owl Press, 1931. Limited Edition. Hardback. A very good copy. One of 210 issued signed. A scientific dystopia with the complete destruction of culture and animal life. A little dustiness to the boards, but a nice enough copy. [9883, Hyraxia Books].

Signed Limited Edition. 64 pp. Black suede with gilt and green decoration to boards and spine in original glassine. Glassine creased with minor wear to edges, but otherwise in very good condition, and marks a remarkable survival. Numbered 130 of 210 copies, signed by the author. Limited edition, no.26/210, printed on hand-made paper. Signed by John Collier. Octavo. 62pp. Publisher's full black suede, gilt art deco design to upper board, gilt titles to spine (some minor loss). Spine just slightly cocked with light rubbing to corners. Boards a little dusty due to the nature of the suede. A little off-setting to prelims. Overall a 'Very Good' copy. Limited edition, no. 185 of 210 copies printed on handmade paper and signed by the author. 62, (2) pp. Publisher's black full suede, gilt lettered to the spine, gilt and green Art Deco design to the upper board, top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Slight fading to the spine plus a little dustiness overall, mild wear to the fore edges and corners, otherwise very good.
