In good brown cloth boards, gilt and black titles to front with decoration in black to front tail end; gilt title field to spine with black titles and blind stamped scroll-type pattern to spine. The boards are clean and flat; with collapsed hollow and a little loose; spine ends bumped and frayed. Tanned free end papers; prize plate on front paste down. Tinted dark brown top cut edge; the fore and tail edges are tanned. The text block is straight, quite firm and tanned around the edges. B/W plates of the three featured men. Pages 105 to 108 have been badly cut and have small rips on fore edge; pages 15 to 20 have small nicks on fore edge. The Preface and Contents pages to John, Lord Lawrence are detached. No dedications etc. Good minus condition. Without jacket.
