All of the moveable components are present, save one small piece lacking in the first. Oblong folio (10.75" by 13.75"), pp. [28] including six (6) full-page pop-up illustrations. In original illustrated chromolithographed boards backed in red cloth. Contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper: "Hedwig M. Gennerich. From Tante Hedwig." In 'The Collector's Book of Children's Books" Eric Quayle described this as one of the finest of Nister's stand-up books. Very good. Minor toning and spotting, one or two short tears. One small moveable fragment missing from first pop-up opening, not significantly affecting movement or effect. Remnants of tape. Binding worn.
