A first US edition mass market paperback with a full 1 to 10 number sequence and a stated First Ace Printing November 1981 and on the front cover it states 'First paperback publication!'. In very good condition for its age. Heavy age tanning to pages making them rather brown but still eminently readable. The paper used to print the book looks like it has come from different batches as pages 87 to 121 are noticeably more tanned than the rest of them so when viewed from the edges these pages are darker sandwiched between lighter pages. There is a narrow indentation across the third page and there are signs of tape residue on the first and last page. The covers are showing some signs of wear to the extremities and there is a faint reading crease down the front cover adjacent to the spine. SYNOPSIS: "Meet Miro Hetzel, Galactic Effectuator. He's part gentlemen, part detective, part fraud, and his trail of exploits cuts through some of the more improbable civilizations in the universe.
