Two proto-fantasy volumes by Morris. The Glittering Plain is G+. Wraps have some mild toning to some of the light-colored areas, with slight rubbing and edgewear; top edge is quite foxed and fore-edge has one small stain. Internally no names, underlining, highlighting, marks, or dogears. Pages are clear and legible, and glued binding remains sound and supple. Golden Wings and Other Stories, also published by Newcastle (ISBN 0878771077) but in 1976, is G. Traces only of rubbing to wrappers and top edge is only slightly foxed, fore- and bottom edges being clean. Again, no names, marks, or dogears internally, with pages clean and a bit brighter than TGP. However, there are two splits toward the end, such that careful handling is required. A few discreet drops of rubber cement would have a remedial effect. Save on shipping -- both volumes sold together as a set.
