A reissue published by Cape in 1984. A near fine book with some rubbing to the corners. Signed and inscribed 'For Karen/with best wishes/Jan Pienkowski/'Aug '98'. In a very good spine faded dust wrapper which has been clipped. The stories are accompanied by Pie kowski's intricate and visually striking silhouettes, which bring the underwater kingdom to life. The tales are a blend of folklore, fantasy, and original storytelling, and they feature characters like mermaids, sea creatures, and other fantastical beings.
