some shelf wear, some wear to edges etc, still a good tight clean copy. the alien starship landed in a confield. its crew died rapidly, leaving only one survivor, a baby, delivered as its mother died on a hostile earth. but it was more than a child, it was decades of turmoil and strife that would come close to tearing the whole planet apart. "First Edition" on its copyright page, and publisher's original "$4.95" price on its un-clipped jacket front flap. This book is in very good condition, marred only by a former owner's "Book Relay" stamp on its front endpaper, plus light bumps on its spine ends, and slight lean. Its binding is sound, with no spine crease. Covers are unmarked and otherwise unworn, with bright silver titles on its spine. Pages are unworn and otherwise unmarked. Not a remainder. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is in near fine condition: whole, bright, and unmarked, with traces of wear on its spine ends, and the top of its front flap fold. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description.

First UK edition hardcover, with dust jacket, published by Herbert Jenkins, 1969. An alien space ship crashes in a field on Earth, leaving just one survivor, an alien baby. This is the UK first, with the price of '22s 6d' printed on the lower corner of the front flap. Jacket is intact, and has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Jacket has rubbing wear throughout, and a small chip at the head of the spine panel with some small creases adjacent to the chip. Black cloth covered cover boards, with the title and author name on the spine in silver. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges of the text block are relatively clean considering the age of the book and type of paper stock used. Binding is tight. Not a remainder, no a library discard. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
