In tan cloth with pictorial paper label in color on front board. Circa 1940's. Browning to boards and page edges. Hinges have been repaired and are holding well. No jacket.

Later printing, with all illustrations in black and white. Front binding starting. Text clean throughout. Bookplate on front pastedown. A little loss to the front cover. Dampstain around the edge of the back board, which also has some dark spots.

Corner loss to the pictorial cover. A vintage copy of one of the Oze Series. The thirty-sixth in the series of Oz book. Bucky Jones is aboard a tugboat in New York Harbor when the boiler blows up. He is soon blown into the Nonestic Ocean where he meets Davy Jones, a wooden whale. The pair take an undersea route to the Emerald City, and have many adventures along the way. Size: Octavo

A Lovely Copy in like Dust Jacket - Like New! This hardcover book has 289 pages including many illustrations. The copyright page shows 1969 as the published date. I have placed a fresh mylar jacket on this great book. We always ship in a sturdy box.

Hardback, no d/j. Red boards have a slightly bumped spine and corners, light scuffing along top edge and light marks. Fep has a small tear across the top, o/w good.

Book itself generally crisp & very clean inside and out, no names, no writing incl endpapers, but cloth rubbed/scraped a little worse than minor along top & bottom edges incl heel of spine. DJ front flap corner clipped, remains on the attractive side despite edge flaws & bit of foxing along fore-edge front panel w/ shallow chipping head of spine (clear of the title) + additional small chips & tears & a couple of longer tears taped on the unprinted side. This book is bound in red boards with bright black letters on the spine & colorful plate on the front cover. The plate has small chips off the edges, but generally clean & bright. There is wear on the spine tips & cover corners with a stain on the back cover. There is age darkening inside the front cover & the front hinge is cracked. The contents are clean & unmarked, the binding is tight. There are numerous black & white illustrations in the text, 5 are colored with a colored dedication page. First Edition, later state.

Bound in red cloth with colourful paste-down image on front cover. Unsure of publication date. Copyright page states 1942 as the publication date but this book does not have all the first edition points. Large dampstain on rear cover. The bottom corner of several pages is torn out, this does not affect text. Some small tears in cloth on top and bottom of spine.

Later printing, gift inscription on ffep dated 1944. Illustrated in b&w. Good, no jacket. Yellow cloth with front cover paste-on illustration, back hinge is cracked, front hinge is not cracked, but weak. light soil to boards, inside front paste-downs and ffep are browned around the edges.

2nd edition {6 & 1/2' x 9'} Denim blue cloth covered boards with black lettering upon spine. There is half inch split along front hinge at end pages front top of spine. The 'This book belongs to' page has been filled out in childish hand writing. Some mild foxing & dust stains textblock edges. Front panel has full-color, full page pictorial label affixed. [289 pages]

Birthday insc for 14 Mar 1946 on prelim. Red boards bleached around edges, spine ends turned and bumped corners. Picture eps. Spine and binding slightly adrift at top. Bep and fep are thinner paper and quite browned, prelim has also got heavy browning around edges, plus foxing spots which occur in minor amounts throughout a relatively clean copy. worst page as in second image. Possibly due to the immediately post war paper stock used rather than way it has been stored as other copies have similar comments. Ink name on inside front cover. B/W Illustrated end papers. Front hinge beginning to crack. Front free end paper had paperclip mark. Spine has black title, Illustration and Reilly & Lee on spine. Ink name and birthday inscription on 'The Book belongs to" page. Numerous B/W illustrations through-out text. Top and bottom of spine and corners bumped. Contents clean and sound.

Bound in original light blue cloth with bright color illustrated paper title label pressed onto the front cover. No name on the "This Book Belongs To" page. Tiny repaired tear to the cloth at the head of the spine, else very good plus in about good dust jacket with $2.00 price on the front flap, and large chips at the head and heal of the spine panel and smaller chips and small tears to the edges. Final title listed on the rear dust jacket flap is "Magical Mimics of Oz" which was published in 1946.

The front dj flap has a blurb about the book itself, the back flap has a listing of the OZ titles and lists to #36, magical Mimics in OZ.

Presumed first edition, hardcover in a turquoise green cloth with color illustration pasted to front, has sixteen page gatherings, and "This Book Belongs To" box is on the second front flyleaf. The book has a light lean to the binding which is firm throughout, bumps to spine ends and cover corners with a touch of creasing to corners of first/last several pages, rubbing with some small smudges to covers, and areas of mottling to the cloth, otherwise a solid, tight VG copy with a crisp interior.
