Traces the early life of E Nesbitt and discovers some of the reasons why her books have their particular image. 1958. First Edition. 160 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over green cloth. Black and white photographic and illustrated plates throughout. Binding remains firm. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Edges are very lightly discoloured and foxed. There is a small stain on the tail edge. Head of spine bumped. Back pastedown has light stain. Pages are browning with age, else in very good condition. Dust wrapper has price clipped. Spine is discoloured with small white markings. Edges are showing general wear and tear, there are two very small tears in the head edge. The dust wrapper is in good condition. The dustwrapper is covered in plastic. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.
