1954. 230 pages. Grey pictorial dust jacket over blue cloth. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and tanning. Clipped jacket has light edge wear with minor tears and chipping. Mild rubbing and marking. Tanning to spine and edges.

DJ may have small chips and tears. Book will have been read but remains clean. Cover may have light wear or slight soiling. Pages may be slightly tanned. May contain inscriptions but text pages will be free from markings.

1st edition. Light wear to boards. Content is clean. Good DJ with some tears and marks.

Beautiful unread copy with crisp corners has faintest touch of wear at bottom of spine.

First edition. 230pp. Blue cloth covered boards. Dustjacket with sizeable portions of loss. B + w photographs. A blank bookplate to the inner board, a small ink mark to the foredge, otherwise internally clean. A biography of James Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, by his secretary of 20 years - includes meetings with his famous contemporarries such as Thomas Hardy, Chesterton, H G Wells etc.

Dust jacket very tatty with some open and closed tears and creases. Name inside and some tanning and mild foxing to the pages.

First edition in fine condition, no dustjacket, blue cloth boards. (Book ref 4316)

Signed by previous owner. The dust jacket a little shelf rubbed, small tears, chipped, marked, edge worn and scuffed in places. There is sporadic foxing on the early pages but very little in the body of the book. The pages are slightly 'browned' on the first and last pages. Lean to spine, backstrip heavily mottled, some mottling to boards, bruising to extremities, slight warp to rear board. Spotting to top edge. Signed by Asquith in brown ink and a faltering hand to ffep, offsetting to half-title, musty. Else, pleasingly clean. In the sober original dust jacket, featuring a striking photograph of Barrie: spine sunned, spine ends frayed, rubbed and gently soiled, some nicks and creasing. Good/ good An unusual signed copy of the anthologist and celebrated diarist's biography of her friend and former employer, the Scottish author and creator of Peter Pan, J. M. Barrie. Lady Cynthia Asquith (1887-1960) worked as Barrie's secretary from 1918 to his death in 1937; he bequeathed her the majority of his estate (excepting the Pan-rights).
