The price-clipped dust jacket has no chips and only minor edge wear including a couple short edge tears to rear panel. This book was the basis for the David O. Stated first edition. Date 1940 on title page. Copyright page has date 1939 and date 1940 the later which has been inked out, presumably by publisher. A very good plus copy with no prior owner markings, no bookplate. Slight fading along spine and slight spine lean. In a good dust jacket which has a few abrasion on front panel including a half inch or so long line thru the dress and a couple small dots of abrasion. Rear panel and rear jacket flap have a light water stain about the size of a silver dollar. Jacket is not price-clipped (two dollars) and has a single 1/2" closed tear. This book was the basis for the David O. Selznick motion picture starring Joseph Cotten and Jennifer Jones. 212 pages.

First Edition. Original cloth, very good with slight staining to edge of rear cover. In very good, price-clipped dust jacket with same staining along the rear. Offsetting on the rear inside blank from a newspaper artile which is still present. "First Edition" stated on the copyright page and the date "1939" with the date next to it blocked out (by the published). Made into a wonderful movie with Joseph Cotton and Jennifer Jones. (Bleiler 1222). A wonderful fantasy novel.

Original 150 page revised final draft shooting script with color rewrite pages dated February 4, 1947 for the film Portrait of Jennie by Peter Berneis, based on the novella by Robert Nathan. Bradbound in studio covers. Very good copy with two small pieces to the edges of the front cover and with some minor spotting to the covers. The acclaimed motion picture Portrait of Jennie was directed by William Dieterle, starring Jennifer Jones, Joseph Cotten, Ethel Barrymore, Lillian Gish, Cecil Kellaway, and David Wayne, and was produced by David O. Selznick. The film won an Oscar for Best Cinematography - Black & White.
