Henderson, a one-time heroin addict and biker, drew heavily from memories of his own violent youth on the notorious streets of Roxbury in boston to fashion the idea of 'Silent.' At his behest, renowned si-fic & fantasy writer A.A. Attanasio made a dramatic departure from his his usual literary environs to pen this brutally realistic yet fiercely lyrical novel about street warfare, underworld politics and the consequences of illicit desire.
