Tales of HoffmannFaults: No dust jacket, some wear to gilt lettering, slight loss of color to boards. Otherwise, square spine, strong binding, clean pages, no scribbles or owner's name. Story about Linnie Colsworth, who travels to a fort in Nebraska after the Civil War to end an engagement for her cousin. She marries a lieutenant in a marriage of convenience that blossoms into love as they endure the hardships of frontier military life. The story is based on the diary of an actual army wife.
