Bound in black boards with slightly bumped spine ends otherwise a clean tight copy in a clean and slightly bumped price clipped jacket.

Second Tartarus edition, hardcover, has a very slight lean to binding, a hint of shelfwear to spine ends and board corners, and a tiny smudge to fore edge of text block, otherwise a solid, tight VG+ copy in a crisp Near Fine dust jacket.

Mauve boards and spine lettered in black. A 3 mm x 1 mm bump on top front edge. No other faults.

First edition Hardback. Near Fine, edges dusty slight bumping, in clean and bright unclipped dustwrapper. Showing very minor wear, slightest discolouration, some minimal bumping, and rubbing which is housed in a protective removable sleeve. There are no ink marks or writing. A fine book, some toning to the endpapers, small dealer sticker on the inside board and dealer note in pencil. An unclipped jacket that is very fine with hardly any signs of age. Now in a clear protective cover. A very collectable copy.

Collects together seven pieces, with an introduction by Michael Dirda and a cover illustration by Stephen Clark. An excellent copy from the wonderful Tartarus Press. This is the first of two Tartarus editions, the other being 2014. The first edition (and only prior edition) was published by Gollancz in 1977. Slight mark to jacket at lower spine. Pym and George were two of Aickman's closest friends, particularly in later life. A number of the stories from this collection were written at Pym and George's, whose house Aickman would use - this is mentioned in the inscription too. A lovely association. Aickman dedicated Cold Hand in Mine to George and Pym. The present copy comes from the estate of Ann Pym. Gathers together seven short stories. His sixth collection, three stories herein previously published in anthologies. A little bumping to the spine tips. [11115, Hyraxia Books].

A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. Complete with the fine original dustwrapper that remains without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£4.75 net to the lower front flap). Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front endpaper "with love and gratitude to / Mary and Ann; / all but one of these stories / having been written in their house / Robert / Robert Aickman / September 1977". A collection of seven supernatural weird tales. The recipients were close friends and neighbours of the author and the future dedicatees of his 1975 story collection 'Cold Hand In Mine'.
