A sound copy, stains all around cover edges, text is fine. Jacket worn and soiled. A dog story set in WW2, featuring the adventures of 'Tapiola', a Yorkshire terrier, and his friends Richard the canary and Jeremiah the rat. Reading copy only.

DJ has some wear around the edges, and spine has is lightly darkening. Spine is beginning to crack at the front endpaper.

Stated first edition. Clean and unmarked in full cloth binding. Illustrated endpapers. 137pp. Unclipped jacket is rubbed, with toned spine. Size: 8vo - 8" - 9" Tall

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1941. First Edition. Fine hardcover in mildly worn dustwrapper. Map/pictorial endpapers. Fantasy novel of a Yorkshire terrier, a canary, a pigeon, and rats, who set off into Central Park upon a terrifying journey. They hope to assist in the great war effort. In tone, sort of an earlier Richard Adams. Illustrated by Kurt Wiese (1887-1974), a winner twice each for the Caldecott Honor Book Award, and the Newbery Award.

An excellent copy with owner's bookplate, under a fine jacket with one small triangular chip. Continuing the saga of the adventures of the Tapiola, the Yorkshire terrier.

Very good with good to very good dust jacket. Two names on illustrated front free endpaper. Some dents at top edge of first eight pages. Dust jacket is worn at spine tips and corners with a one inch tear at top front edge.

Book is ex-library. Faded, scuffed and soiled tan boards. Green print and decoration on front cover. Corners are bumped and rubbed. Edges are rubbed. Gutters at front and back endpapers have been repaired with tape. Interior is age-toned and soiled, though the text and images remain clean and clear. Suitable as a reading copy.
