First edition. Illustrated by William Stobbs. Near fine with splash marks to the text block and a touch cocked in fine dust jacket. A children's story by the British writer Nicholas Stuart Gray, who has recently been rediscovered with the help of Neil Gaiman who called him "one of the most brilliant children's authors of the 20th century." Nearly all of Gray's books are surprisingly difficult to find, particularly when in the first edition and nice condition like this copy.
