12 edition. Binding has a few creases and scrapes. Half-title page has a number in pencil and part of a dim date stamp. Interior otherwise clean, though turning yellow-brown around the edges. Illustrations by Herbert Roese. No tears but a number of dog-ear ghosts. Binding tight and square. Front cover has a tendency to rise.

Unstated First Edition. Fair+ hardcover, 311 pp. Green boards w/ a black-outlined figure on the upper board and black lettering on the spine. Boards are soiled, have rubbed edges and the lower board has a discoloration spot. The spine head / tail and the board corners are also bumped / rubbed. Starter precedes the title page, but the remaining contents (with uncut fore-edges) are clean & firmly bound, albeit somewhat age-tanned consistent with the book's age. A solid copy of another humorous novel from the author of Topper.

About a 3 inch light pressure dent to the front board; about a two inch light pressure dent to the back board. Lightly soiled on the top and bottom of the page block.
