The first edition, first impression of this collection of fantasy short stories from British author Robert Holdstock, in the publisher's original illustrated price unclipped dust wrapper. An Advance Reader Copy, with a pre-publication advertisement from the publisher loosely inserted. The titular novella that opens the work serves as a prequel to Holdstock's 'Mythago Wood' cycle of of fantasy novels, and is accompanied by seven further short stories. These additional stories are unrelated to the 'Mythago Wood' cycle but are largely influenced by the fantasy realm they take place in.This work was nominated for the World Fantasy Award in the category of Best Collection in 1992. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. A touch of shelf wear to back strip head and tail. Minor edge wear to dust wrapper back strip tail.
