A collection of short stories from a science fiction writer who has won Hugo, Nebula, Edgar and Howard awards. The tales range from pirates in space to magic on Earth, and all contain Vance's own brand of humour. His most recent bestseller is Araminta Station. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Octavo. 9 1/4" x 6 1/4". 275pp. Ex-library copy. With "discarded" stamp and pocket removed from front and rear endpapers. In dust jacket. Only 600 copies printed.

1st printing. The Dark Side of the Moon is a collection of fourteen Vance stories with a three page "Introduction" by the master himself.

Contents are tight, bright and clean, with no inscriptions, no foxing, and no remainder mark. Cover is in superb condition, with an uncreased/unbroken spine. Text-block clean. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. John Holbrook Vance (1916 2013) was an American mystery, fantasy, and science fiction writer. Though most of his work has been published under the name Jack Vance, he also wrote several mystery novels under pen names, including Ellery Queen. Vance won the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement in 1984, and he was a Guest of Honor at the 1992 World Science Fiction Convention in Orlando, Florida. The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America made him its 15th Grand Master in 1997, and the Science Fiction Hall of Fame inducted him in 2001, its sixth class of two deceased and two living writers.
