The Fourth Book of Jorkens: Available Copies

smaller hardcover octavo in black cloth, VG condition, no dj; binding tight, book edges lightly worn, slight foxing top page edges, interior and text clean throughout.

Mystery. 8vo. 1 of 3000 copies. 194 pages. Book has black cloth boards with gold titles. The book has sustained bug damage to the front and rear boards. Moderate wear along top edge of boards and some to the rear gutter. The fore edge is soiled. The dust jacket has over all wear to the extremities, and has NOT been price clipped. There is a 1" piece missing from the top of the spine, but it does not touch the author. There is a small hole on the bottom of the front panel. There is some over all wear to the rear panel, as well as stained. The front flap is compromised with a little vertical hole. Selling quality books for over 35 years.

Black cloth. Square Tight Binding. Clean interior, save for small p/o ownership stamp to front end paper. Dust jacket with mild rubbing and edge wear, with sporadic stains. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.

Unused bookplate on rear endpaper. Darkening to edges with some foxing (from glue?) to gutters. Otherwise fine in fine dust jacket. Size: 12mo - over 6?" - 7?" Tall

In great condition. The bottom edge of the jacket is slightly torn. Binding is tight and inside is clean and unmarked.

First edition. Undated [1947]. Original black cloth with gilt lettering to spine. No inscriptions. Slight forward lean to spine, otherwise VG in unclipped worn dustwrapper.

In very good dust jacket with 1/2 inch closed tear at top edge. Black cloth with gold lettering. Text block begining to darken at margins, but mostly clean, solid & very good+/fine overall.

Rubbing to dustjacket edges with chips to spien ends and corners. Back of dustjack was reattached tape. Dustjacket front flap repaired with tape. Protected in mylar.

Jarrolds. London. [1947]. First edition. Hardback in DW. Slight lean to spine, pages browned otherwise a clean and sound copy in worn and creased wrapper that lacks portions at extremities.

First Edition, limited to three thousand copies. Black cloth over boards with gilt-stamped particulars to spine. Pages are clean and unmarked. Light shelfwear to head and tail of spine; otherwise, boards are clean and bright. Text block is clean. Binding is tight and square. Dust jacket, illustrated by Ronald Clyne, is clean, bright and unmarked. Very light shelfwear. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket.

Sauk City, WI:Arkham House. 1948. 1st edition, limited to 3000 copies. 194pp. Hardcover with dust jacket.  Book very slightly shelfworn with gilt on spine still bright. Internally, end pages slightly age toned but free of previous owners marks or signatures. The dust  jacket is lightly soiled and shelfworn with a closed tear to the rear panel, bottom edge. Overall, a very good copy with a very good dust jacket.

THE FOURTH BOOK OF JORKENS, Arkham House, 1948, first American edition, fine in near fine dust-wrapper with a small black mark on the front dust-wrapper flap fold. 1/3,000 copies.

8vo. Publisher's black cloth. Dustjacket. Titled in gilt to spine. Clean and bright, minor bumping here and there, a touch of scuffing, in a pricelipped pictorial dustjacket with some marginal chipping, creasing and wear. A handsome copy of a collection of 33 tales that just manages to predate the Arkham House edition.

First US edition. Fine copy in fine dust jacket with a two 1.3 cm. closed tears at top of the front panel and light browning to spine panel.
