The Grain Kings, the title story, charts the course of two massive and rival combine harvesters, whole eco-systems themselves, on a collision path in a vast sea of wheat. 'The White Boat' is a disturbing atmospheric story of a girl's awakening from a kind of Celtic twilight, and her abduction by Corsairs from the Continent. 'Weihnachtsabend' explores the eerie parallel world of a German England. There are also barge stories, dragon stories - and a few set on other planets. All testify to the tremendous range of Keith Roberts' imagination - and even more, to his evocative descriptive power:- (original cost unmarked).

1976-1st ed,h/c + d/j, 208pp, 20.5x13.3, has a ex-lib pocket to front end paper and four cancelled stamps to end papers and half title page, couple of tiny pen marks, d/j protected by plastic cover,couple of faint tape marks to d/j back cover, small price clip, no spine markings as a library copy, quite a nice copy considering it is an ex-lib. Seven stories of great sci-fi from Roberts.

208pp. Pictorial light card covers. Signed by the author on the title page. 12mo. Very light wear and chipping to covers, page margins tanning. Internally, neat, clean, bright and tight.
