Arthur Machen. The Green Round. Sauk City WI: Arkham House, 1968, 1st. edition this publisher, 1st. printing, 218 pp., limited to 2000 copies. *** This novel of terror and the supernatural was Machen's last, originally published in London by Ernest Benn in 1930. Central to the story is the theme that timeless evil is forever slinking on the edges of mankind's normal perception. The original dust jacket (not price clipped) is in a clear protective cover. This book is in my inventory and the images are of this particular item. *** Black cloth boards and spine with gold lettering on spine. Fine condition in VG+ jacket that has a hint of browning on rear flap fold, light soil and a little smudging at bottom of back panel. *** 7.75 inches tall by 5.5 inches.

First American edition. A tiny name stamp on the bottom of the page edges, and with a small, faint date stamped on the title page, else fine in fine dustwrapper. A bright and fresh copy.

Red cloth stained, dulled to spine, rubbed to edges with points of fraying at spine ends and fore-edge corners. Spine square. Binding cracked in multiple places, but intact, with no loose or missing pages. Scarring at front paste down, consistent with a removed bookplate. Prior owner's name neatly inked to FFEP. Interior else clean, pages tanned, text unmarked.
