This edition of the first book printed by the John Day Company, was limited to a printing of three thousand copies. This copy has no corner bumping or edge wear, very little rubbing of the covers. Owner's name inked upper fep, otherwise unmarked and tight in binding. Hinges and gutters are solid with very little shadowing of endpapers. Stunning black and white woodcut illustrations. The slipcase is rubbed and quite worn on fore-edge {from frequent removal of the book}, chipped at upper edge. Due to the size of the book and slipcase, it will require additional shipping outside the United States. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
