Moderate shelf wear, edge wear to cover, and the bottom fore corner is creased on both front and back cover. Slight fading to spine. Blue edge tinting all around. Binding is square and tight. Previous bookseller's rubber stamp on half title page. Pages are tanned but clean and unmarked.

A 1st print (stated) of a late 1950s Dell edition of a sci-fi novel from the late 1940s. Dell Book D274. "An eerie shadow-land, halfway between desire and reality, where nothing is quite as it seems". Light edge wear with reading creases to the covers. Light browning to the pages. A very good copy.

First UK paperback edition. First published in the UK by Eyre & Spottiswoode in hard covers in 1958. Contains all twelve of the stories originally published by Rinehart in the US in 1957 under the title The Third Level with the order of the first two stories reversed. Heavy reading creasing and edge rubbing to the spine and a reading crease down the right side of the back cover next to the spine but otherwise only light edge and surface wear to the covers. Browning to the edges of the pages. Bookshop stamp to the first page and there is browning to the pages which are otherwise generally unmarked. Cover art is uncredited - it was previously used on the cover of The Doom Stone by Cornell Woolrich, published in the US by Avon in 1960. First printing. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed.

Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no notable blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind.
